About David Tvildiani Medical University (DTMU)

David Tvildiani Medical University (DTMU) is one of Georgia’s most respected and recognized medical universities, offering a strong foundation for students aspiring to become global healthcare professionals.

The “AIETI Medical School,” a branch of DTMU, was originally founded in 1989 by Academician David Tvildiani and Dr. Dimitri Tvildiani. It was the first non-governmental, higher educational medical institution in Georgia, with a mission to deliver scientifically-oriented higher medical education based on the best international practices.

Following significant growth, the institution expanded to include residency, PhD, and doctorate programs, along with a Nursing School. Recognizing its academic excellence, the National Authorization Council upgraded the institution’s status in 2011 to that of a full-fledged university, renaming it David Tvildiani Medical University in honor of its founder and first rector.

The university’s reputation is globally recognized:

To get Admission at the David Tvildiani Medical University (DTMU) simply fill the Application form or send all the required documents to [email protected].

Application Status:

After submission, within the 7 working days of fulfilling the application requirements, you will get an official offer letter from the David Tvildiani Medical University. On the basis of the signed offer letter, Admission office will start enrollment procedure. Translation, notarization, recognition and enrollment procedures take approximately 2 – 4 weeks.

DTMU has no deadline for admission. However, the University has two intakes. Students can get admission to either join Fall Academic Session (September batch) or the Spring Academic Session (February/March batch).

Global/Europe Recognition
David Tvildiani Medical University is involved in the Bologna process.

MCI Recognition:
David Tvildiani Medical University has just recently gained the accreditation – Medical Council of India (MCI). DTMU is one of the NMC approved colleges in Georgia that offer MBBS in Georgia for Indian students

AIETI is listed in the WHO AVICENNA Directory of Medical Schools, it is a member of the Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE), Association of Medical Schools in Europe (AMSE) and Organization for PhD Education in Biomedicine and Health Sciences in the European System (ORPHEUS).

Over 200 graduates of DTMU have successfully passed the qualifying exams and have already completed or are currently enrolled in residency or other proficiency courses, working as physicians in prominent USA and European Universities and Clinics.

The absolute majority of our graduates have been employed in the professional field, while many more successfully passed the international exams (USMLE, PLAB, MCI) and are currently developing their skills at clinics and research centers of the USA, Germany, Britain, Sweden and other countries. A number of the graduates have returned to the School as proficient teachers. Many have earned their PhD degree.

Career Services:

David Tvildiani Medical University offers USMLE preparation courses to its students free of charge. In addition to mandatory lessons that students attend in basic MD program, our students have opportunity to attend free USMLE preparation courses. USMLE preparation courses are conducted by DTMU graduates who have successfully passed USMLE steps. USMLE preparation process is based on best books and educational materials used and recommended for the exams. Computer based multiple choice examinations are conducted periodically to simulate real USMLE test taking environment.

Postgraduate Medical Education and Continuing Professional Development Center (CPE/CME)

Postgraduate medical education, i.e. residency, provides professional preparation in one of the medical specialties during the period established by the program. Currently, there are two residency programs at the University: Family Medicine and Internal Medicine.

Student Affairs:
DTMU’s Department of Public Relations and Marketing carries out student support activities, coordinates and helps student’s associations and interest groups in organizational issues. Also, it is a part of the Strategic Management and Development Department.

David Tvildiani Medical University has two campuses which are located in Tbilisi and Rustavi respectively.

DTMU Library is a well equipped modern library.
