Caucasus International University (CIU) has a proud legacy spanning over 23 years. Established in 1995 as the medical institute “Clinitsist,” CIU quickly received its license from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Georgia. By 2005, the institute earned full accreditation from the Accreditation Council of Higher Education Institutions, marking a major milestone in its growth.
In 2006, the university evolved into a multi-profile higher education institution, adopting the name Caucasus International University (CIU) LLC.
Over the years, CIU has consistently demonstrated excellence. In 2018, the university successfully passed the authorization process and was granted a six-year authorization by the Authorization Council of the National Center for Education Quality Enhancement (Decision #88, dated 14.11.2018). It received one of the highest evaluation scores among Georgian higher education institutions.
Earlier, in 2007, CIU was granted an institutional accreditation for five years by the Accreditation Council of Higher Education Institutions. This was followed by another five-year authorization in 2012, during which time up to 30 undergraduate, integrated, postgraduate, and PhD programs at CIU were fully accredited.
Recognizing the growing demand for its programs, the Authorization Council of the National Centre for Educational Quality Enhancement approved CIU’s application in July 2015, setting the maximum student intake at 4,700 students. Later, on March 4, 2019, the Accreditation Council unanimously approved an increase, raising the student capacity by an additional 2,700 students, bringing the total to 7,400 students.

Application Status:
After submission, within the 7 working days of fulfilling the application requirements, we will send you an official offer letter from the Caucasus International University Tbilisi. On the basis of the signed offer letter, Admission office will start enrollment procedure. Translation, notarization, recognition and enrollment procedures take approximately 2 – 4 weeks.
CIU has no deadline for admission. However, the University has two intakes. Students can get admission to either join Fall Academic Session (September batch) or the Spring Academic Session (February/March batch).

Enrollment Process
Once the invited applicant sends the personal identification and educational documentation to the Caucasus International University, the documents will be submitted to the National Centre for Educational Quality Enhancement and to the Ministry of Education and Science to obtain the Ministry enrollment. As soon as the enrollment procedure will be successfully completed, the University will inform the applicant of his successful enrollment to study in Georgia.

Visa and Immigration
As soon as the enrolment procedure will be successfully completed, CIU will send you an official invitation letters which – together with other documents – will be required for the applicant to apply for studying VISA to the closest Georgian Embassy.

Global/Europe Recognition
The Caucasus International university is involved in the Bologna process and is recognized both in Europe and in the US. The Caucasus International University is a member of ENIC-NARIC (ENIC – European Network of Information Centres in European Region, NARIC – National Academic Information Centers in the European Union)
MCI Recognition:
The Caucasus International University has just recently gained the accreditation – Medical Council of India (MCI), which means that the Caucasus International University is listed among the foreign universities recommended by the Medical Council of India. CIU is one of the NMC approved colleges in Georgia that offer MBBS in Georgia for Indian students

The Caucasus International University coorperates with the European and US leading universities and offer exchange programs at various European universities to the students for one semester or a year.
